Passwordless authentication is currently the best way to connect to many Azure resources. TX absolutely needs this security feature for MDW especially considering a very small amount of work that is needed.

I can only concur. This is a must for several of our customers and the only workaround is to use the Generic ODBC data source which. However, this is clunky, requires components to be installed on the TX server, and makes the solution less portable.
