Hi,

Is it possible to add object security rules on a _R table from within TimeXtender?

Thx!

Hi,

what is the use case you are trying to achieve? _R tables are really just internal technical tables.

Hi Rory,

This is a specific case for us and in general I try to avoid it.

We want a certain dashboard to read the raw table instead of the valid, due to some transformations that happen on the valid table that are not needed for this specific case.

Just recently we have switched to using the TimeXtender integrated security settings instead of another tool and I was just wondering if this setting is possible at all.

Hi,

OK - I think branching off an unaltered version would be better, as far as I am aware you cannot use the security features on raw tables. You could of course take inspiration from how TX does it and roll your own.

@sierd.zuiderveld can you please try the steps below?

Add and deploy a new database schema

Then on the specific table go to table settings and set this new schema to be the raw schema for the table.

Then go to Object Security Setup under security

Select Schemas and select “add role” and then choose this role for the newly created schema
