Orchestration

I’ve got a customer with approx. 200 orchestration packages in TDP 26.3.I need to update retry settings for the vast majority of these packages … manually, that’ll take close to forever. We should have a bulk-update feature based on the existing multi-select feature, which currently only works for deletions:  enable/disable retries and, if enable, set the retry interval to e.g. 60 seconds for all selected packages.Notifications are also relevant from a bulk-update perspective.

I have just checked the excution on a clients Orchestration site and it seems to have dropped history and I am not sure if scheduled executions are happening. Is there an issue with your Orchestration tool?I just had a look at the history package in a production process and process map that runs every hour and the history on that item shows it executing this morning at 8:57 (over 3 hours ago) and then before that August 5th! It has definitely been running consistently, so I am not sure what has happened that you no longer have history why and the process executions do not appear to be taking place as scheduled.

Hello, I have submitted the following question to TimeXtender support. I wanted to post the question here to see if there are other people that have build or are trying a similar solution to monitor the executions. We are currently implementing a monitoring and orchestration framework based on the TimeXtender Meta Collection data.According to the TimeXtender documentation, Meta Collection metadata is exported once every 24 hours to the data lake. We have also observed this behavior in our environment. The documentation states that metadata is exported once every 24 hours and the exported files overwrite the previous export. Our use caseWe are using the following Meta Collection entities to monitor the execution status of our data platform:Ingest_ExecutionTasks Ingest_ExecutionLogs Ingest_Tasks Ingest_TaskVersions Ingest_DataSourceVersionsThe objective is to determine:Which tasks were executed Whether the execution was successful Whether warnings or errors occurred Which datasource and

Hi,Recently we updated our TimeXtender application and ODX, and as part of this process we moved our ODX from our development server to the production server. We are now reconfiguring the scheduler and are running into issues. Our test environment, which runs on the same server as our development environment, is being picked up by the scheduler correctly. However, the development environment is not being picked up by the scheduler. We have one scheduler running on the dev/test server. What I have already tried:Installing a second scheduler service specifically for the Dev environment, using "Dev" as the Environment field value — this did not work.  I used multiple values for env (Dev, Repo name, Servername)Could you advise on how to configure the scheduler so that it also picks up the development environment? We have multiple SA accounts available. Thank you in advance.

Hi,I started working with the PowerBI refresh functionality in Timextender O&DQ 26.1.0.23. After following the steps in Power BI Refresh Package in TimeXtender Orchestration | Community, the first tests were really promising, but after adding it to my Processes it seems like i keep getting unexcepted errors and PowerBI isn’t refreshing reliable. The first refresh of the day succeeded, but after that I only get errors.Yesterday is successfully ran multiple times, but at the end it kept giving the same errors. I’m not getting any info as far I can see in the logfile output. The dataset has only refreshed one time today through scheduled/API refreshes, so I haven’t hit the limit for today yet. I see the 429 “Too many requests” error coming back, which indicates throttling because API rate limits are exceeded, often due to high-frequency refreshes, parallel queries, or concurrent refresh plans. However, as the test schedule was just once per hour I don’t think I’m at my limit yet?Any hel

Hi there,Is it possible to add a button in a Power BI report that triggers an orchestration process map?If yes, what are the steps to get this working? The idea is that users of that specific report can refresh the data by clicking on a button in that report. Christian

Hi, Within TimeXtender O&DQ I am wondering if it is possible to setup “Email on failure” on processes instead of a singe Packages. Untill now I always add email on failure on every single package, but in the end it would be much faster to be able to add this on a higher, hence on the Prosess level. Is this possible?Kinds regards,Devin

Er det muligt fra en version 20.10.xx at foretage migration til fabric uden at skulle gendanne alle objekter ?

Hi,We have been using Orchestration to schedule our TDI execution packages and Ingest tasks, and have tasks running every other hour. We now have a new requirement to be able to pause our schedule for service windows of a couple of hours every 2nd month. Does anyone know how to pause the schedule using Orchestration or some other tool?Any help is greatly appriciated. Best,Leo

Hi we have a number of Orchestration Process Maps that have been published. Our client is wanting to start giving access to specific end users to check the status of and re - process certain maps. The client wants to only show the relevant process maps to these users. I cannot see a way to restrict the users access to view the maps, just which ones they can process. How can I enable this functionality for the client?

Hello Community! Me and our developing team are getting pretty annoyedat the fact that it does not seem to be possible to duplicate process maps. Hence, when we want to create a process map similar to another one we will have to start copy-and-pasting elements from a process map into another, then start doing all the necessary adjustments, etc - which takes time.It would be much efficient to simply duplicate a process map and take it from there.Do any of you know how make this button clickable? What does enable it?Let me know if you have any advice or quick tricks!  TX O&DQ ‘duplication button’ I am referring to

Hi, I have two questions regarding Orchestration, schedule groups.(1) There is the option to make a schedule based on a SQL custom script. When I try to test this functionality out with the following statement:SELECT CAST('2025-06-10 01:00:00' AS DATETIME)It gives me the following pop-up:  Does someone know why I don't get query result = '10-06-2025 01:00:00’? The SQL statement produces a valid datetime value in SMSS.(2) I need to schedule a job that runs four times per day for a project. I wanted to build this schedule with the custom SQL option and by using a calendar table in our database from the Prepare Instance. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Hello. We are working on adding PBI datasets to the Orchestration process. I have followed these instructions and up until no. 3 in the Power BI part, everything has been a success. However, I’m supposed to choose Orchestration > Packages, select New > Power Bi Refresh. But Power BI Refresh is not an option:  Is there a particular reason for this? I have added Power BI Refresh to the workspace (as a member currently, does it have to be an admin? That is not specified in the instructions at least.)I’m on TimeXtender Data Governance version 24.3.0.87Best regards.
