TimeXtender Orchestration and Data Quality Q&A

We have SSO setup for a Client for using O&DQ.We can create individual User Accounts just fine, but if we try to make use of Entra Groups we get 2 issues:The Browse dialog for adding the ENTRA Group does not list all Entra Groups. If we add a Group using the group’s object ID it seems to work correctly but users in the group when singing into login.timextender.com are asked to select the “Company” they want to access once they select “Orchestration and Data Quality”. and the list of companies is blank. We have tried adding in a different group that the user is in that does appear in the browse dialog with the same result.Version of TX O&DQ is 25.2.0.58 Need to understand why this is happening to satisfy the client.

Hi there,Is it possible to add a button in a Power BI report that triggers an orchestration process map?If yes, what are the steps to get this working?The idea is that users of that specific report can refresh the data by clicking on a button in that report. Christian

Hi, Within TimeXtender O&DQ I am wondering if it is possible to setup “Email on failure” on processes instead of a singe Packages. Untill now I always add email on failure on every single package, but in the end it would be much faster to be able to add this on a higher, hence on the Prosess level. Hi, yesterday we deleted multiple tmx objects(tables/ views) from our current project. Hi all,Lately I have this problem that when I login at the exmon portal, I get the following error message:Earlier it did work, and I would have the usual four buttons shown here. But now the URL just says the sign in failed because of my user details (see image), and I get this white screen.I tried things like using a different browser, deleting cookies and cache, etc…Anyone might know what the issue could be? Or some things me and/or my colleagues could try? (Also, I'm not 100% sure if it has something to do with my issue in this topic. I have just installed TimeXtender ODQ 25.2 and at the end of the install it asked for the installer for the existing version 25.1 which we do not have.Now we cannot uninstall the older version of TimeXtender ODQ because we do not have this version of the installer. Can you please send us the installer so that we can uninstall the older version.

Good Morning, I have just updated O&DQ Desktop from 25.1 to 25.2 and I no longer have the Data Quality folder available in the Object Explorer window. I can still open the Data Quality tests I have setup from the Recent Items on the Start window. But how do I add this menu  item back in so I can see all my DQ tests and creates new ones?

Hi,We have been using Orchestration to schedule our TDI execution packages and Ingest tasks, and have tasks running every other hour. We now have a new requirement to be able to pause our schedule for service windows of a couple of hours every 2nd month. Does anyone know how to pause the schedule using Orchestration or some other tool?Any help is greatly appriciated. Best,Leo

Hi we have a number of Orchestration Process Maps that have been published.Our client is wanting to start giving access to specific end users to check the status of and re - process certain maps.The client wants to only show the relevant process maps to these users. I cannot see a way to restrict the users access to view the maps, just which ones they can process.How can I enable this functionality for the client?

Hello Community! Me and our developing team are getting pretty annoyedat the fact that it does not seem to be possible to duplicate process maps. Hence, when we want to create a process map similar to another one we will have to start copy-and-pasting elements from a process map into another, then start doing all the necessary adjustments, etc - which takes time.It would be much efficient to simply duplicate a process map and take it from there.Do any of you know how make this button clickable?What does enable it?Let me know if you have any advice or quick tricks!  TX O&DQ ‘duplication button’ I am referring to

Hi, I have two questions regarding Orchestration, schedule groups.(1) There is the option to make a schedule based on a SQL custom script. When I try to test this functionality out with the following statement:SELECT CAST('2025-06-10 01:00:00' AS DATETIME)It gives me the following pop-up:  Does someone know why I don't get query result = '10-06-2025 01:00:00’? The SQL statement produces a valid datetime value in SMSS.(2) I need to schedule a job that runs four times per day for a project. I wanted to build this schedule with the custom SQL option and by using a calendar table in our database from the Prepare Instance. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Hello.We are working on adding PBI datasets to the Orchestration process. I have followed these instructions and up until no. 3 in the Power BI part, everything has been a success. However, I’m supposed to choose Orchestration > Packages, select New > Power Bi Refresh. But Power BI Refresh is not an option:  Is there a particular reason for this? I have added Power BI Refresh to the workspace (as a member currently, does it have to be an admin? That is not specified in the instructions at least.)I’m on TimeXtender Data Governance version 24.3.0.87Best regards.   

In TimeXtender Orchestration, you have the option to set ‘Retry on Failure’ equal to True on a package (e.g. a TimeXtender Ingest package). What does this setting do? It will probably retry the package in a process if it fails? But can you set how many retries should be carried out if it keeps on failing? Also, the ‘Retry in (seconds)’ setting is probably the amount of time Orchestration waits before it starts the retry? I have searched the Community but I cannot find any proper documentation about this, or am I missing out on some article?  

How can I stop a process from running in the TimeXtender DG Desktop application?I see an article about a process queue but nor in the portal nor in the desktop application I can see this menu. Maybe that is a functionality in the old version?

Hi,Are there some specific ports or something that needs to be open for Exmon to work? When I’m at home Exmon DG Desktop works just fine, but when I’m at work I get an error as you can see in the attached picture. What SQL server is the application trying to reach? We don’t have any local databases configured for Exmon since we only use it for job scheduling in our SAAS environment.BRTomas Hertzman

We have recently installed the new Exmon desktop V24.3.0.49 and have started migrating our TimeXtender SAAS packages to the new Ingest, Prepare and Deliver packages.Everything works fine in creating the packages.There is some strange behavior on the Ingest packages however!If you then open a fresh Exmon desktop instance and open an Ingest package definition it will show an abbreviated name of the task selected and the drop down will not be populated with the list of Ingest tasks, just the task selected.If you then refresh the list it will change the selected package to the corresponding package on a different ingest instance! Without any user interaction apart from pressing the refresh button.In our example it is changing dev ingest instances to production! This doe not happen for Prepare or deliver packages. Something to note and put on the hotfix list for Exmon.

Good moringI am in the TimeXtender DG Desktop version 24.3When I click on Tools → Configuration → Advanced I see a lot of timeout settings.I can not see what the unit of measurement is, are they all in minutes? Could not find this in the help.Greetings, Roy 

Is there a way in TimeXtender Orchestration (Exmon DG) to make a scheduled group (with a fixed start time, which cannot be earlier) wait for another delayed running scheduled group to finish?If the second scheduled group starts while the first one is still running, it will fail because it is not allowed to run at the same time.This can of course be solved by using the concurrent packages option in TDI, but that is not always desirable/useful.

I see that there is a new set of package types that can be added in the TimeXtender (Exmon) DG Desktop (v24.3.0.35)I have tried to use them but get an error that there was no prepare package found for my selected Data Provider.Can anyone provide any guide how to use this new feature, and if it is fully available yet?   

I have a scenario where Exmon periodically seems to loose synchronization, or perhaps has some status issue relating to a package, Where the TX package will just error out immediately on the process map with an error that the job is already running. I am using Exmon against the SAAS version of TimeXtender (holistic). The underlying package is definitely not erroring out or is running. But Exmon seems to think that the package/Job is running.So far the only way I have been able to correct this is by deleting the package and re-adding it. But this keeps reappearing randomly or different packages with the Exmon processes. Is there a way to clear the status of an Exmon package or is this a bug that needs addressing?Using TX 6645.1 and Exmon 24.2.0.28Help! finding it hard to explain this one away with the client!
