Hello,

I am trying to setup an endpoint to PowerBI Premium in version 20 (20.10.58)  The connection is setup as below, and it tests OK (See pic).

When I Deploy I get the error:

Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'Either the database with the ID of 'TXFinance1' does not exist in the server with the ID of 'host002_datasets-231', or the user does not have permissions to access the object.

The Semantic model is created fine in PowerBI, but nothing inside of it.

Is there a setting I am missing? The stange thing is that it appears to work for a colleague in the same workspace using the same app credentials, but not on my machine

Many thanks,

Tim

@Tim Turner If you go to your Power BI Workspace and check the Manage Access, do you have the same level as your colleagues for which this is working?

There are some settings regarding the Power BI Premium Per User settings that are described in the article below, in case this is useful.

@hugo.winkelhorst I believe you are using this workaround at a client, deploying to PBI xmla from 20.10. Do you have some ideas?

@Tim Turner please note that deploying to PBI in 20.10 is not officially supported, and we recommend migrating to TimeXtender Data Integration to deploy semantic models directly to PBI

Hi,

I assume your app registration is admin on the relvant workspace? Have you taken over the dataset and edited the data source settings? You will likely also need specific versions of the client libraries (x64_15.0.2000.443 for ADOMD, AMO, OLEDB).

Hi @Tim Turner do you have an update on the above?

Hello Christian,

thanks for your support and your suggestions @rory.smith

I think the issue is the Versions of the client libraries.. I am struggling to find where I can download them.. Can anyone point me to where I light find them?

thanks

Tim

Hi @Tim Turner

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/analysis-services/analysis-services-data-providers

From this guide in the old support system.

Great thanks I managed to download the providers version below and they worked.😀
