The TimeXtender Gateway allows users to connect to their on-premise servers and data sources in the TimeXtender Orchestration and Data Quality cloud environment. By using TimeXtender Gateway you circumvent the need to open firewalls ensuring your intranet continues to be protected from outside traffic.

Setting up TimeXtender Gateway
Open the TimeXtender portal URL in your machine environment browser.
From the upper right corner, click your name and select Download TimeXtenderGateway
Click the file you installed, called TimeXtender Gateway Installer.msi
Now, open TimeXtender Gateway
Right-click on the Execution Connection folder. Select New Execution Connection.
Give the execution connection a descriptive name for the server you are installing the gateway on and click OK
Note: Only one execution connection can be set up on each machine.
Now your execution connection has been set up
Setting up a New Data Provider
Right-click on Data Provider and select New Data Provider
Enter a Description as appropriate.
In the Datasource Type drop down menu, select the appropriate data source type, i.e. “Transact-SQL” for an SQL Database.
Fill out the appropriate Host Name for the SQL Server Instance.
Fill out the database name in the Initial Catalog field.
Select the appropriate authentication method. If using SQL Server Authentication, enter the appropriate username and password.
After all of the information needed for the conneciton has been entered, click the “Generate Connection String” box.
Click the Save button to create the connection.
Click the Test Connection button to confirm the connection works.
