After deleting a data source from ODX server the dataset and pipeline objects remain in the data source folders in Azure Data Factory. It would be beneficial if these folders and objects are removed from ADF, since not all developers at clients have access to ADF in Azure to do a manual cleanup.

An option can be to add something like the ‘SQL Database Cleanup tool’ for ODX Server/Instance.

Indeed; the ODX Server cleanup tasks cannot be used to remove all tables, so removing a data source always means manually logging into SQL or data lake storage to delete it manually.

And then there is the added issue that adding a removed data source again in the future causes all kinds of ‘object already exists’ or ‘Object reference not set to an instance of an object’ errors.

Kind regards,

Andrew
