A Gant Chart / overview of all executing packages including scheduled start time, overlap in concurrent running packages and execution times.

This will help us to plan the executing packages because we have a total overview of all packages instead of clicking each package one by one and see the execution log details or the schedule.

Of course this would be a nice feature, but my usual suggestion is to extract the execution information from the log tables i the repository and then create the overview in your favorit frontend. That way you have a lot more control over the actual display - I like to schedule after multiple considerations eg. source system service windows - balancing network trafic, disk and CPU.

It would be difficult to build an overview in Discovery Hub that would satisfy all possible constraints.

Hi Bas,

We have built such a scheduler around TimeXtender allowing easy scheduling and monitoring of schedules when running multiple schedules on one server:

Feel free to contact me on wim @ calmco.bi or +32 477 45 15 01 if you want to see if we can help you.

Kind Regards,

Wim

@CALM - Co Support. I just mailed you.

@Jan Bøllingtoft, is it possible to add these kinds of overviews to the 'TX Dictionary Project'? (https://support.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004020826-TX-Dictionary-Project)

Hi Bas,

All of the information needed to create a Gantt chart is in the dictionary project. I built a simple sample that shows the running packages over the duration of a day. This doesnt look quite as good as Wim's because the Gantt chart visual in PowerBI won't quite do what we want it to, so this is just an adapted bar chart. Would this do what you need?

Hi Tobias. Thanks. We will create a Gantt chart in Qlik Sense. All information is indeed in the TX Dictionary project.

But my initial question was to have such Gantt charts in TimeXtender. But Jan Bøllingtoft already answered that we need to create that kind of charts in a frontend tool like Power BI or Qlik Sense.
