Currently, a mapping set only works if you keep the fieldnames in your table exactly the same as they are in your ODX (i.e. names as they are apparent in your data source).
Because these fieldnames may be very vague or long, you usually rename them in your DWH. Unfortunately, a mapping set is not able to cope with this. You will be able to accomplish something like that by manually adding a second mapping to a table in your DWH that has renamed fields using the 'smart synchronize’ option:
- Create the table in DSA by manually dragging the first ODX table to DSA
- Rename fields in DSA
- Add second ODX table to DSA by using ‘smart synchronize’
I would like step 3 to be something like “Convert mapping to a mapping set and make sure it detects the currently mapped columns from ODX to renamed DWH columns”.
