The new Table Builder for the new Enhanced Data Sources is a great addition. However, the UI is extremely lacking and quite frankly not very nice to work with.

  1. The “Show XSLT” section is too small for any viable code reading and editing
  2. There is no “maximise window” to increase working space
  3. When editing the XSLT code, the UI does not support ENTER for linebreak. Instead it just closes the Table Builder.

Please note we are running TX Classic v20.10.72.64

I can also add three more improvments:

  • When building a table with a RAW-file, it requires to paste the path unlike in other connections types where browsing is possible
  • When building a table with XML/JSON response, and somehow one forgets to copy starting or ending brackets and clicks ok, table builder throws an error and takes you all the way back to the main application. This means that all your work is lost.
  • If you forget to rename your flattened table it shows up as DefaultTableName. When you go back and change it to something more recognizable, it still shows up as DefaultTableName in Data Selection. You then need to delete that endpoint and create it again.
