Right now, you can’t tell if something has a work item or not by looking at it. Changing the appearance of an object with a work item on it would be extremely helpful in helping to avoid accidental collisions.

+8I'm going to have to bump this idea. I think this is a great idea.
Marking the table so you can imediately see that some on else has an work item on this would be great.
In my eyes it would be better to have a pop up as well telling you that someone else has an work item on the table with a button to notify that user that you want to put in a change aswell.
To maybe improve further on that: When you run a deploy an a table that you changed which has been marked by a different user, give one final warning that you are changing a table which has an work item from a different user and that you are completely sure that this is what you want to (potentially ‘breaking’ the project repository and all colateral damages that might come from that).
When you do Deploy and save it would be great that there is a special marking or text in the version notes saying that it is a version that has been saved in that way.
