We are running TX version 6536.1.
Our data source is AX Dynamics 2012 on premise. We have the issue both with the SQL Server connector and the OLEDB connector.

After synchronizing, we can't select any tables with right click on the data source → Select Tables → Search.
It also takes > 30 minutes before the table selector pops up.
Our only option is to select all tables.

The Transfer task - Select table option does give us the option to select tables. However we can't select any individual columns. Neither does this give us the option to define any incremental selection rules or row filters.

Hi Jeroen

You are using the TimeXtender Dynamics 365 Finance - SQL Server

Right?

Hi Thomas,

We're not using that one. We're using these:

Hi Thomas,

I’m also involved with this project with Jeroen. We’ve tried it with two connectors as shown below.

Hi @JeroenS

Please try the one I suggested, it is made for the type of data source you have and can choose what account you want to look for.

It is likely due to the time it takes to see the fields that it can’t show it in that menu.

I just tried to set one up in my setup. I then clicked on Select Tables and it ran for a while like for you.

Then I removed the Select All option and clicked the Switch to Simple selection.

Then I could see all the fields and it mentioned that it contained 10095 tables.

Hi Thomas,

we followed the documentation and tested the connection successfully within the portal.

Adding the datasource in TX and selecting the tables gives us the following error (dbo.TIMEXTENDERENUMTABLE).

Hi @vw-victa

Is the table existing in the database? I guess that is something you actually need.

If you try the same trick with the normal SQL version, about removing all table from the field and switching to Simple does it still stay empty?

I think it has something to do with the connector or the ODX, as we don't have any tables named TimeXtender in AX Dynamics.

No tables are shown and when running the sync it stops after a few minutes with the same message as shown below. Also trying to Preview the data, same result.

Hi @JeroenS

Yeah I think that is a hidden prerequisite.

Essentially you are missing this part. https://legacysupport.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/210438483-Installation-of-TimeXtender-AX-Adapter

If you try it with the normal TimeXtender SQL provider as you did at the beginning and removes the Select all option, can you also see the fields then?

Hi @Thomas Lind

we've contacted our customer and send them the XPO file.

To be continued!

Installing the adapter solved the issue on our side.

We used this one for AX 2012 https://legacysupport.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/210439403-timeXtender-Dynamics-AX-adapter-xpo-part

@JeroenS

Great to hear that our old guide still is applicable and works.
