ODX Dev sources are different then ODX Prod sources

Dear Sir,

We are migrating TimeXtender to the latest and the greatest

Our client is using the old school Business Units for there ODX Data Sources.
Development data sources are different then Production data sources.

So our client wants to have the same ODX setup in their new version of TimeXtender (6675.2).

So I need to setup 2 ODX servers for this right ? One for DEV and one for PROD.

If that is true, I need two Window servers to install two ODX servers. One for DEV and one for PROD.

Question:
Or can I install/run two ODX servers on just one Window server ?

Client is going to use TimeXtender ODX Server 6675.2

Hope this makes any sense.

Regards,

Arthur

Hi,

as far as I am aware there is only one ODX Server service possible per VM as the ODX Server config tool only works with one. You are also better off having two separate appropriately scaled VM than one that has enough headroom to not cause performance issues.

@avanrijn
You will need to have 2 ODX's correct. For both of them i would advice that you are using a different vm's. Otherwhise if the dev odx is using alot of resources you might interfere with your Prod odx.

Hi Bernard,

So you are right for performance reasons to split ODX dev from ODX prod.

But for a systemtest is it technically possible to run two ODX servers on just one box/machine ..?

Thanks for looking into this.
