TimeXtender classic ODX connect to Azure SQL / Synapse storage

Hello,

We are using TimeXtender classic ODX server (20.10.51) to ingest data. Some of our data sources are located in Azure in form of Azure Synapse / Azure SQL.

Are there any guides on how to setup data ingestion from Azure to on-premises ODX server?

I.e. what are prerequisites from Azure side (service principal / managed identity?) to connect and what connectors should be used from the ones available in ODX server?

I know this is possible from cloud version of TX, but is it possible to do so from classic version?

Thank you

Hi @gediminas.juskenas

You should be able to connect to Synapse or Azure SQL db with the Timextender SQL data source

Alternatively the below providers, should also work

I believe all the authentication options are supported, so it is more a matter of preference

If using Business Unit then add the SQL Server data source

Alternatively

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions

Hi Christian, thanks for pointing this out, i will try this out.

One more question though. Since Microsoft is expanding Fabric capabilities they state that connection to lakehouse can be facilitated as user identity (MFA) or service principal (which we would have to use since TX is an application). Are any of the available TX Classic connectors suitable for connecting to Fabric lakehouse?

Hi

@gediminas.juskenas please see the following related to TX Classic:

If you migrate to TDI then you will be able to use the following data source:
