Good morning,

We have a need to export a subset of data from our current Azure data warehouse to an AWS target. Does TimeXtender currently support AWS as a target? If so, could someone point me in the direction of some documentation on how to configure it?

Thanks,

Chuck

Hi Chuck

No we do not have that currently. For now we can only connect to data stored on an AWS source with some of the CData providers.

If the AWS can be configured to read a specific Microsoft SQL DB, you could export the Azure DB to that first.

Perhaps AWS can read txt/csv files. If so you could export it to a text file with our text file export program https://legacysupport.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/211556723

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for the information. I thought that may be the case, and I'll investigate using text files. We typically use the Microsoft stack, so I'll talk to the AWS guys to see what they can do.

Thanks!

Good you are welcome.

Best regards
Thomas Lind

TimeXtender will deploy to SQL Server on an AWS VM.

I've also seen some initial success deploying to Amazon RDS for SQL Server. However, this is not something we test or offer support for.

Can anyone help me on what Cdata adapter is used to connect to AWS S3 bucket or AWS Data Lake?

Hi Satish, Many CData providers allow connecting to an S3 bucket. The provider you use depends on which file type you are attempting to extract. For example, for CSV files, you would use the CSV provider and use the provider instructions for connecting to AWS S3
