Hi @Thomas Hjermitslev

Are you going to elaborate on the CData Placeholder data source and its use for legacy solutions?

Hi Søren,

Since it’s relevant for 20.10, it’s documented on the legacy support site, but good point, I’ll post it here as well:

TimeXtender no longer supports or distributes CData providers. In version 20.10.62 and above, new TimeXtender Enhanced providers are available. CData providers will continue to work on machines where they are installed, but we recommend that you upgrade to the TimeXtender-branded providers. If you delete an existing CData provider, TimeXtender can no longer distribute a new file to you. Do not attempt to update a CData provider as deleting the existing file will succeed, but downloading the new provider will fail.

If you're running TimeXtender 20.10.57 or older with the ODX, a workaround is required to add a new data source that uses a CData provider installed on your local machine:
1) Go to Manage Data Source Providers and add the "TimeXtender CData Placeholder" provider. It's an empty provider we've added to enable this workaround.
2) Add a new data source using the provider you just downloaded.
3) Edit the new data source and choose to provider you actually want to use in the Provider list.
