Hi,

Previously, we used SAP HANA (CDATA) connector to connect SAP HANA with TimeXtender. I understand from documentation that we can use

Azure Data Factory - SAP Table and TimeXtender SAP Table Data Source for connecting with SAP HANA Data Sources.

My question is with

  1. ADF- SAP Table, does customer need to have ADF Subscription/Licenses. Also if they want deployment target as SQL Server On Premise. How can we user the same,
  2. TimeXtender SAP Table Data Source - Can we use this without Theobald Connector, if yes, how to use this with SQL server On Premise.

Let me know the steps and example at the earliest.

Hi,

  1. You need to have an Azure subscription with ADF which will connect to SAP and extract the data. ADF incurs cost for doing what it does. If the target for data is on-prem SQL Server you will need to run a Self-Hosted Integration Runtime in your on-prem network to be able to reach your on-prem SQL Server
  2. This connector requires Theobald Xtract IS and also requires SSIS to be available to be able to extract data from SAP. If you use SQL storage for ingest, this will push your data there.

You can also acquire Theobald Xtract Universal as this makes all your extractions appear as JSON endpoints.
