Incorrect Job Repository: Expected 1 found 2, after downgrade

Hello,

I'm working on a project (new license model) where we want to use the Azure Data Factory for Data Movement. I've installed the TX 6143.1 version but got the message “Data Factory source is out of date”. Looking at the release notes this version of TX doesn't support ADF Data Movement at the moment:

“Warning: The new version does not support the data source providers that move data using Azure Data Factory (e.g. "Azure Data Factory - SQL Server (11.0.0.0) 64 bit").”

I've decided to downgrade to TX version 6117 but I'm getting the message as shown below (screenshot). It looks like there is another Repository from both installations.

How can I solve this and remove one of the repositories. I want to use the ADF Movement so the repository for version 6117 is needed.

Thanks in advance!

Vince

Hi @vw-victa

It is not possible to downgrade unfortunately, once the repository for an instance has been upgraded. Warning messages were displayed when upgrading regarding the irreversibility of upgrading. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We are currently working on a bug fix to solve this issue. In the meantime, a potential workaround could be to recreate the ODX instance in the portal, and open it in version 6117, although this would require recreating the data sources etc.

Hello Christian,

I will give it a try and will share the results before closing the ticket. Hopefully the downgrade won't bring any other issues which is solved in 6143.1

Thanks for the quick reaction.

Hi Christian,

I recreated the ODX after deleting ALL of the instances (even the datasources). Logged in again and still I'm getting the message: "Incorrect job repository version. Expected 1 found 2”.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

You removed all instances, ODX, DWH and SSL.

Then you made sure the newest version of the ODX was not running and then went through the ODX service configuration using ODX version 6024.1, made sure you connected to the new ODX Instance and finally you connected to the ODX in the 6117.1 version of TX.

This did not make it work?

Hi Thomas,

I didn't downgrade to 6024.1 with the ODX service. I also can't find any older versions to download with in the 6xxx version. Is it possible to share an link to this ODX version? Then I will retry your steps again.

Hi

I sent the two versions to you on your email. Let me know if you got them?

New versions of the data source providers have been released - v. 12.0.0.0 - that are compatible with TimeXtender v. 6143.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for the reply. I will update the Data Source Providers but will be using the 6117 version for now. For so far it is working, we only get an message about the second repository. Just an message which we can skip and continue. If the ODX, MDW is working with ADF then we will try to upgrade to TimeXtender 6143.

Thank you and please close this ticket.
