Execution succesful but notification e-mail

Hi all, at a client we have encountered a curious situation with execution e-mail notifications, hopefully you will be able to help us figure it out.There are 5 scheduled execution packages for BU's that run every morning. Since two days we are getting e-mail notifications saying these have failed, but when we look in in TimeXtender they in fact have executed successfully.Each BU execution throws a different connection error message:ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 8.0(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on 'XXXXXX' (10060) Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. [500] Could not execute the specified command: HTTP protocol error. 500 Internal Server Error. ERROR [08001] could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) I will take the top one as an example to show you how it looks. TempDB is growing rapidly in terms of disk space, how to avoid/troubleshoot this?

Hi community,I have a question about the Temp DB in SQL Server. We have a customer where the TempDB is growing rapidly, the disk is expanded multiple times. Although it is not a problem to expand this disk again for this customer. I want to understand how we can avoid the TempDB growing rapidly?I do not have a DBA background.The TempDB for this customer is 40 GB at the moment. All ‘heavy’ tables are loaded incrementally and batch cleansing is enabled for these tables. I have some questions:I know batch cleansing is preventing the logs will grow rapidly, but does it also have impact on the TempDB? Are there any other table settings in TimeXtender can help reducing the TempDB size? Does the number of threads in a execution package have impact on the TempDB? Are there any best practices in determining the correct/optimal disk size for the TempDB? Are there any troubleshooting ideas/tools for this?Any other suggestions?

Benefits of pre defining a Relation or just defining the Relation while Adding a Conditional look Up

Hallo,Iam really new to all of the Timextender functionalities, so i have a small case/question for the Community: I would like to join two tables and i dont know, if I first define the relation between the two tables or just drag the field into the othe table and create a lookup field  then I will have the option to define a specific relation for this field. Where are the benefits of creating a relation first ? ty in advance FEN

ODX Data source include vs Exclude tables

At one of my clients we are using the ODX and they set it up that for every different type of load they added the data source multiple times. So for the normal full loads there is 1 source . For the incremental loads of the same source there is a different source.In the data source selection the include only the tables they need for the full load. and they do the same for the incremental. But from time to time task wil not execute without showing up in the execution log without an error. I have the feeling that because the includes je indirectly exclude the other tables and if they are running at the same time this cancels each other out. In the windows logs you can see that the package then is skipped but it's no where to be found in TX.Does anyone have an explenation about this and/or an idea how we can fix this?My idea was that maybe putting everything in 1 source and then create 2 different transfer task instead of 2 different sources would fix this problem. Use tables from one project in another project (from the same database)

We have multiple TimeXtender projects that use the same databases for their ODX/DSA/MDWs. What is the best way to use tables from one project in another one of the other projects? "Add External SQL Connection" seems to be an option, should this still be used if the table we want to connect to is in the same database?

OAuth with authorization prefix "Bearer "

Hi,I am trying to connect to a REST API that uses OAuth2 authentication.The API documentation is very clear on what to include in the authentication:  I have entered all this information in the REST CData provider and I can successfully use the provider’s “Authorize OAuth” button.However, when I try to test the connection, error “401 - Unauthorizated” is returned.In the API documentation, they state that the token needs a prefix “Bearer “.I suspect my error is caused by the REST CData provider sending the authorization header without the Bearer prefix, like so:Authorization: {ACCESS_TOKEN}Which the API of course does not accept. Is there any way to include a prefix to the token in the authorization header?

Sync between ODX and Datawarehouse

Hi, I am syncing my data between ODX (csv files) and my DSA_Clean data area (Data waehouse). No i’m constantly getting an error that 1 of my previous inserted rows doesn’t exist anymore. I’ve tried to sync all my possible steps, so ODX, Source, Data are, but I keep getting the error and I don’t know hpw to resolve this problem.I tried several steps:1 Add the table as new table in my datawarehouse area, but still same error.2 Remove and add column again

How to add a default value to a unique identifier field

There may be occasions where a data warehouse table has a unique identifier field that has one or more rows with a null value. Remove Unused Objects from a Data Warehouse instance

This article describes how to remove unused objects from a DW instance. The purpose of removing unused objects is to remove table references (also referred to as sources) that no longer exist in the DW instance. For example, if a table is brought into a data area from an ODX instance and then this data area table is later deleted, then selecting remove unused objects will remove table references that no longer exists from the DW instance repository.Note: Removing unused objects does not delete tables from the DW database. Why does the app registration for the ODX need owner permissions on the resource? I would think that read/write permissions would be sufficient. Why does TimeXtender need the “extra” rights?

Create a bacpac export

This article describes how to create an export of a database for use in another location.In a local SQL server install, you have the option to create a backup file (BAK) that can be shared or used to restore the database. In Azure SQL, this is not possible. Instead, you have the option to create a data-tier export called a BACPAC file.There are many benefits to this compared to a backup, as it takes way less space.To do that locate the database, right-click on it and click on Export Data-tier Application. Then you click Next. Notice that it mentions creating a bacpac file. Then click on Save to local disk to, click on Browse to locate where to store the file.  Alternatively you can also chose Save to Microsoft Azure. No perspectives when deploying tabular model

I've made a simple semantic model and configured an Analysis Services (Tabluar) endpoint in Azure. There is one perspecive containing a few fields and measures. The model deploys and executes without any issues.However, the perspective is not visible when connecting to the model from Power BI Desktop. Also, when I connect to the model from Management Studio, I can only browse the whole cube and again the perspective is not there. I can script the AS database to a new query window and the perspective is not mentioned in the script.Is this an issue with TimeXtender? Or as AAS config issue perhaps? I'm using a PPU license but I don't think that's relevant since the perspective cannot be used in Management Studio either.TimeXtender version is 20.10.37.64.Thanks!

Missing edit options > ' Edit Semantic Field' in SSL layer

Hello, I have built a data model in Timextender and with a Power Bi endpoint. In the Power Bi report I see certain fields summarized by ‘Sum’. In the SSL layer I only get the option to change te name and I am missing the 'Summarize by’ and the ‘Sort by’ option. What am I doing wrong?

Upgrade Wizard to new version (6xxx)

Good morning,What is the status of the upgrade wizard or tool to migrate TimeXtender to the new version 6xxx?We are waiting for it for quite a long time now and the only status i can find in this community is from 4 month ago that it still is not available yet.Customers are even beginning to think about other data estate solutions becasue of the silence from your side and the uncertainty of when it becomes available.Can we please have more clarity on the timelines regarding this tool?

Perspective Missing Selected Tabular Cube on Deploy

Good Day,I have setup a Perspective in TimeXtender (v20.10.39.64) and it includes 3 tables and a Tabular cube. When I go to deploy this perspective from DEV to QA, the tables are listed in the deploy tasks but not the cube.I tried the following fix but this did not resolve the issue:Remove Tabular cube from perspective Save TX Project Re-add Tabular cube to Perspective Save TX Project Deploy TX Project Multi Environment TransferHas anyone ever run into this issue before?I am going to try to add a new perspective to see if this resolves the issue but it worries me for promotes going forward that objects maybe missing on my deployment/promotes.Kerry

Incremental load based on history table with soft deletes

I have table A with history enabled, all columns SCD type 2 except the PK and a record is marked as deleted when deleted in the source (with a seperate record).In the next data area / data warehouse (DSA) i want to create an incremental table B based on table A, but I do not want to have deleted records from A in table B.When follwing the incremental rule wizzard the incremental selection rule can be set based on the incrementaltimestamp but deletes can not be handled because table A has no deletes (is thomstone =1).How to solve this the easiest? I can only think of taking along the Isthombstone field to table B and delete the records in a post script but this should be possible musch easier I would say.Suggestions?
