Timextender Classic 26.3 is here with Project Blueprints as the headliner: partners can now publish ready-made projects, and customers can create a new project from one in a few clicks. On top of that, the Dynamics AX adapter can now connect to a Microsoft Fabric SQL Analytics Endpoint, so Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations customers have a way forward when Microsoft retires Export to Data Lake.

New & Improved

Project Blueprints

With Project Blueprints, partners no longer have to juggle project exports to deploy the same solution to many customers. A partner can now upload a proven Classic project once and share it, and their customers can start from a working solution instead of an empty project, saving setup time and keeping implementations consistent. If you've used Instance Blueprints in Timextender Data Integration, this is the same idea brought to Classic.

Partners can upload projects as blueprints, sharing them with all their customers, or only within their own organization. Think of it like a shared folder of projects, not a 1:1 sharing solution.

Customers can create a new project based on any blueprint available to them. The New Project window now lists blueprints and once the user has selected one, Classic creates the project and opens Connection Manager, so all that's left is pointing the connections at the correct data sources.

You can of course still start from scratch with an empty project when no (relevant) blueprints are available.

Connect the Dynamics AX Adapter to Microsoft Fabric SQL

The Dynamics AX adapter now supports Microsoft Entra service principal authentication, so you can connect it to a Fabric SQL Analytics Endpoint using an application ID and a client secret. This matters because Microsoft is retiring Export to Data Lake on 30 November 2026, and its replacement, Link to Fabric, exposes F&O data through an endpoint that requires service principal authentication. Company and account filtering also work with the renamed columns in Fabric.

Fixed

  • Adding a global setting of the type 'semantic' would display class names instead of readable options in the list of endpoint types.
