Hello Timextender and community I’m looking to understand how Timextender Classic deals with collumn statistics that aren’t tied to indexes. Our project is built on Azure SQL DB. Obviously TimeXtender automatically rebuilds indexes as part of its data cleansing procedures. However, rebuilding indexes only updates statistics on the indexed columns—not on the rest. Performance relies heavily on accurate statistics for query optimization (especially when MAXDOP isn’t explicitly set), this leaves me wondering: Does TimeXtender have any built-in process or configuration to update statistics on non-indexed columns? If not, are there recommended best practices for managing these statistics in a TX solution—either as part of the deployment or as a post-process step? After dealing with a sudden drop in performance, we’ve observed performance improvements after manually updating statistics in the entire project. This takes 16 hours though, so I’d like to ensure we’re not missing any built-in cap

Good Day, We have a client that is on V20 that would like to incorporate some Sensitive Data within their TX environment that some of the TX Developers should not have access to. As far as I am aware, if you have access to the TX Repository then the developers can open all projects. How would I handle the solution of the Sensitive Data in TX? Kerry

Hi, We are using a REST data source with dynamic values to fetch data for approximately 12,000 records, where each record corresponds to an individual API call. Occasionally, we encounter issues with the API provider where some calls return a 400 error. Unfortunately, it’s unpredictable which dynamic values will cause these errors. Currently, it appears that the TimeXtender REST data source stops processing upon encountering a 400 error, resulting in a "Completed with errors" status. Is there a way to configure the REST data source to continue processing the remaining dynamic values, skipping over those that result in a 400 error? Ideally, it would also log the calls that failed for review. Best regards,Pontus

Does anyone know exactly what happens when we ingest data from e.g. a SQL Server into Fabric Lakehouse? It seems concurrency impacts performance (more can be less) but there might also be Fabric assets in play that could act like bottlenecks, and which requires “capacity” management. Any best recommendations/practices in this space?

I am loading a table incrementally into my ODX storage in an Azure Data Lake, where new Parquet files are added daily. This approach is because the source only holds data every two weeks, and I want to maintain a log in the ODX. The Parquet storage is very compact. However, for downstream analysis, I only need to retrieve data from the last 1 to 2 days into my prepare instance. I am using a data selection rule on the mapping, and I have also tried applying it directly on the table. Both approaches take a very long time to complete (+1 hour), whereas running the same query on the source SQL database filtering for 2 days of data completes in about 10 seconds. I suspect that the prepare instance is scanning through all the Parquet files, including older days, causing the slow performance. My question: Is there a way to configure the TX prepare instance to only process the most recent X Parquet files (e.g., the last 2 days) instead of scanning all files? Recently we have been running into big problems with our production repository database becoming completely unresponsive after completing an environment transfer, actually leading to scheduled executions not starting the following night. It has happened twice in the last two weeks but never before during the 3 years that we’ve been working with TX. The issue is seemingly resolved having switched to a vCore model on the production repository, but we are at a loss as to the root cause of this problem. We have of course read all the relevant knowledge base articles/community discussions that talk about why the repository may become generally slower over time (execution logs have been deleted, yes) -however, for us it has not been gradually deteriorating but suddenly. Version 7026.1 - Ingest into Lakehouse I’ve got a SQL data source where some column names contain spaces. This causes the TX SQL connector (23.0.3.0) to throw the following error when I try to ingest data into a Lakehouse: Executing table dbo_tx_profitcentreinfo:failed with error:Found invalid character(s) among ' ,;{}()\n\t=' in the column names of your schema. Hi, I have two questions regarding Orchestration, schedule groups. (1) There is the option to make a schedule based on a SQL custom script. When I try to test this functionality out with the following statement: SELECT CAST('2025-06-10 01:00:00' AS DATETIME) It gives me the following pop-up: Does someone know why I don't get query result = '10-06-2025 01:00:00’? The SQL statement produces a valid datetime value in SMSS. (2) I need to schedule a job that runs four times per day for a project. I wanted to build this schedule with the custom SQL option and by using a calendar table in our database from the Prepare Instance. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'd like to make a new data source connection using REST to connect with our Azure storage table. Thus far I have managed to get the connection setup, however pagination remains a issue. When testing our connection and following the steps in the debug logging file I see that when a table has a next: "x-ms-continuation-NextPartitionKey” and "x-ms-continuation-NextRowKey” it will return this in the header (not the body). But if the table doesn't have this it will stop since the "x-ms-continuation-NextPartitionKey” header was not found. As I am applying these pagination parameters as query parameter I need to be able to solve this issue. Is there maybe a way to apply a default value to these variables (manipulating query doesn't work as the variable itself already won't be found) or some way to dynamically replace a URL? Hello. We are working on adding PBI datasets to the Orchestration process. I have followed these instructions and up until no. 3 in the Power BI part, everything has been a success. However, I’m supposed to choose Orchestration > Packages, select New > Power Bi Refresh. But Power BI Refresh is not an option: Is there a particular reason for this? I have added Power BI Refresh to the workspace (as a member currently, does it have to be an admin? That is not specified in the instructions at least.) Is it possible to add the dynamic values used in a nested call to a table flattening.In this particular case the first call gets the list of documents and feed the id as a dynamic value to the 2nd call. The response doesn't include any reference to the document and without the id we cannot link the details to a document. I've tried to add it as a static node (name: Document_ID value {id})but that only results in errors.

Hi, TX ver: latest I am getting an error when import metadata or doing table flattening. This worked fine earlier, before 3 june. Works fine using Postman. I am fetching refresh logs from power bi using the following endpoint: https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg /groups/{groupid}/datasets/{id}/refreshes (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/get-refresh-history-in-group#refresh)In my use case, the groupid is hard coded and I iterate over the datasetid {id} using dynamic values FromEndpointTable. The setup for this is the same as in this guide: My problem is that the dataset id is not included in the payload for the refresh log endpoint, so I have no way of knowing which power bi dataset has been refreshed. Could I somehow include the dynamic endpoint as a field in the result set? Or is there any other way to solve this? Best regards, Pontus B

Hello, TimeXtender 20.10.51 I’m looking for support with an issue we’re experiencing where execution packages are running but no tasks are being completed while causing 100% usage on the repository. After deploying to production, we ran a package manually and noticed it not proceed past the above step. The “current tasks completed” stayed at 0, and no data was being loaded, even after waiting up to 30 minutes. We tried running it multiple times, but nothing changed. Running individual tables worked fine. We checked the SQL database usage for the DSA to be sure, and it wasn't being affected—no data was loading as expected. While troubleshooting, we found that the repository (a standard 100 DTU Azure SQL database) was hitting 100% data IO and DTU usage. One query, in particular, was using nearly all the available resources. Hi, Is there a way to access an ODX that went offline after upgrading TX? Or would you need to install the ODX version that is equal to the new TX version?

Hi! This week I have been trying to upgrade a client of ours to TX 20.10.66.64 and in this process we have come quite far. We are able to deploy & execute all layers in a project, except for the Semantic layer. The error message TX shows us is below: The account that is mentioned in the parts that I have blurred out is an account that has never existed, nor is mentioned in any connection in the project. The databases used in this semantic layer are all on a SQL server that worked correctly before the upgrade of TX. Note: TX was not only upgraded, but also installed on a different application server. Created a new endpoint in the existing semantic layer, when trying to deploy and execute this, same error message appeared. Deploy steps all succeeded, it fails on the execution step. Has someone seen this error message or experienced this before?

Hi Looking to quickly replicate an existing data pipeline in a new prepare instance. Is it possible to clone a table in one prepare instance into another, or somehow export a table from one prepare instance and import into another? I cannot see any option, so my guess is no, but just thought I’d ask. Regards Paul

Hi! Recently I have helped a customer upgrade their TX environment to version 20.10.66.64. With this upgrade it was advised to switch from an ODX setup to Business Units. So we recreated all datasources in the BUs and chose to set up just 1 BU for a datasource to service both Dev & Prod. Now the customer had to rename 2 column names in a table in the datawarehouse DSA on Dev. The next morning the execution package for Prod had halted with an error message stating there were 2 invalid column names. It could not find the 2 new columns. Performed a deploy on Prod and it ran normally. The next morning the Dev environment had not finished because of an error. There were 2 invalid column names, but this time the error message mentioned the old/original column names. We think the cause for this is in using only 1 BU for both Dev and Prod. Hi! I have just installed TX 20.10.66.64 on a new server for a customer and following the steps of the “Configure Multiple Environments” article. Created a service account and setup the Windows Services through TimeXtender. Logged in on TimeXtender with the Service account for prod and linked it to the prod repository (which is on a different server). Now I'm trying to setup the production environment in TimeXtender. I opened Environment properties and clicked New Environment, gave it a name and filled in the address of the server (and instance) containing the prod repository. Filled in the ports. When clicking OK to close the Add Environment window I almost immediately get the error from the printscreen below: Has anyone come across this before?

Hi! I am currently investigating something for a customer of ours. They just switched their Telephony system to Teams Telephone and want to use a dashboard in Power BI to show the current queue of callers. The data can be extracted from Teams Telephone by MS Graph API. This customer has a TimeXtender environment in production, so adding a new datasource (TimeXtender REST connection to the MS Graph API) will not be the hardest part. But, they want the dashboard to show (near) real-time data. Is it possible for TimeXtender to take in data, prepare it for the report and refresh the semantic layer within seconds and then start again? I am aware MS have created a plugin for Teams to show these numbers in a dashboard of their own in the application, but our customer would like to know if it is possible to create this in Power BI using TimeXtender. Hi, is there anyone who managed to get the Freshdesk pagination working? I tried different ways but it is not working for me. Let me just describe what I did so far. trying with using Query Parameters and {TX_NextPage}, I tried using that since the freshdesk url is very easy to adjust with the page number, so I added this: My URL is: Pagination should look something like this https://[domain].freshdesk.com/api/v2/tickets?page=[number] So, I added in the connection settings first the pagination rule which looks like this: and I added the endpoint later for tickets. This didn’t work, so I tried the same but adding it in the endpoint with Override pagination rules, unfortunately that didn’t work either. Any other parameters, such as pagesize, or include-stats works, perfectly fine, but the pagination simply doesn’t. So after trying this two, I tried another way. Hi, I am trying to set up a new Ingest Instance with Microsoft Fabric Storage. I am following Christian Hauggaard’s guide for Integrating TimeXtender Data Integration with Microsoft Fabric, but i am stuck on step 2. Create Storage for Ingest Instance. (Link: Fabric Lakehouse Ingest Instance storage (Public Preview) | Community) The guide describes using a non-MFA user when authenticating, but i am stuck using my Azure AD user with MFA enabled. When i try to create storage in TimeXtender Data Integration i get the attached error message, and when i check the sign-in logs for my app registration in Azure there is an ‘interrupted’ sign-in attempt with error code 50076 (User needs to perform multi-factor authentication). Error message details Is there any way to resolve this issue with the current MFA-requirement on my user?
