I have recently been experimenting with using .rsd files for REST API data sources. I have generated the .rsd files and then modified them to add pagination. I now have two questions: 1. What is the appropriate way to move these .rsd files to production? Just copy the files, to the production server? Or is there some way in integrate the movement with the TimeXtender transfer to production process? 2. When moving the .rsd files to production, how can we have them dynamically use the URI for the production data source instead of the dev data source? If we just copy the files from dev to prod, the files will still contain the dev data source. Do we have to manually change this, or is there a way to pass this source address using a variable? Thank you.

When we perform a transfer from the acceptance environment to the production environment, there are settings that you do not want to take with you. First the time schedule. We have an Execution package for both acceptance and production. These should run at different times. Secondly, the acceptance environment naturally refers to other TimeXtender databases than the production environment. Nevertheless, the database links are taken literally after the transfer. Third, when you accept a change in acceptance, you transfer to production. However, when you have executed these, the sources are literally copied from the acceptance. We have circumvented the latter by allowing acceptance to refer to production, but this is not always desirable. Fourth, it would be nice to be able to include project perspectives during the transfer. It would be nice if you could set the above points as settings to transfer.

Hi, I'm searching for a way to get a table insert incremental. I have a table (about 30 million records). This has a row for each hour of the day for 10.000 machines, so this table is getting bigger very quickly. I do a lot of transformations in this table. This resulted in a load time of over 10 hours. I've discussed this with our TimeXtender Solution Specialist and we've decided to split the table into multiple smaller tables. Now I do have 1 table (loaded incrementally from ODX), this table has a lot of lookups and simple transformations. This table is loading quickly because it's incrementally loaded. The result of this table is inserted in a new table (Raw table), using a table insert. This table is converting cumulative numbers to noncumulative, using the SQL functions LAG, OVER, PARTITION BY and ORDER BY. Because it is a table insert I have no idea how to do this incremental. I've set NonClusted Indexes (also on Raw table) on all fields used in the PARTION BY function. And enabl

Dear CommunityIf I'm clicking on Report->Errors or Warnings then I see a fulll list of them. Where are those records stored? In which table can I find them ? My problem is that once forgot to check the "Error" manually, therefore I want to create a script which regularly should check if errors exists. But wo far, I couldn't the table/view/place where this Infos are stored. Any ideas? Regards Alex

I can see the custom data on the table when I go and check advanaced. How to know where does it exactly points to? I am trying to find the location and file name of the excel sheet I loaded.

Hi all I recently changed the environment properties of the development environment to have the AX data source point to the live environment instead of the test environment. I hoped that executing (without deploying) the staging area would refill all staging tables with live data instead of test data (all full loads, no incrementals), but it didn't. In fact, what needs to be done, is deploying by manually marking all tables to be redeployed in the deployment screen, as nothing has changed according to TimeXtender. Is it possible to make the SSIS package connections dynamically looking at the environment properties (this way an execute would suffice)? Or mark the staging tables to be redeployed? TimeXtender version 16.8.1.64; project is using SSIS. Thanks!

Did anyone have a data dictionary that has been pulled from timextender system database. The ideal one I am looking at is either a search option on a html where you can look for a table with all the columns, descriptions and data mapping(source). Or if anyone did similar one on an excel document will equally help me.

Hi, I have a source table in Navision which contains inventory data. The data is sometimes changed back in time due to miscellaneous reasons. I have so far handled this with change tracking in Sql Server and then I do a merge statement that either inserts new data or does an update on older data already in the fact table. So my question is how could I handle this in TX and do a incremental load? Regards Birkir

Need to connect to someone with the experience of using Theobald connector in TX. Seems like the only connection options I get are Z_XTRACT_IS_TABLE and Z_XTRACT_IS_TABLE_COMPRESSION, which implies that TX is only using the Xtract_IS_Table connector. What if I want to use other Theobald connectors, such as Xtract_IS_OHS, Xtract_IS_BW_Loader or Xtract_IS_Report?

Hi community, We are trying to get a csv. file as a data source in the Discovery Hub. We've tried the 'Edit single text file', but when we import the columns, it doesn't give us the data in these columns. You got any idea how to handle these csv. files in the Discovery Hub?

Hi, We are trying to read a csv file and truncating some columns because our table would be too large otherwise. Unfortunately deploy and execute fails with this error: "Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "name" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page."." We are pretty sure it isn't an encoding problem because when we increase the column size ("Length") in "Edit multiple text files"->"Columns" we can read the data just fine so the error must occur because of the truncation. Does anybody know what options we have to use to let TimeXtender know that we are ok with the truncation of the data in the columns? Thanks, David

Just after some advice about whether something is possible. I have developed a data-warehouse that encompasses all products, However due to the nature of the business what I want to do is create two separate cubes, both that only report on a selection of the products, i am trying to avoid extra security roles in Targit which is used to browse the cubes or creating extra SQL tables which i believe would enable me to achieve the result but with more to manage. Is it possible to add a filter to a cube so that it only includes some dimension members?

'ORA-01861 Literal does not match format strings' I keep getting this error when I want te deploy and execute my table. I tried the troubleshoot option: delete the table by using the SQL Server Cleanup Tool, but this doesn't seems to work in my case. The field that gets the error is my Regestration Date with data type 'DATE'. This field also contains dates before 1753-1-1 (I guess typos). I've added a data selection rule and then I get the ORA error. You guys got a solution for this problem?

Hi, to configure the multiple environment setup I used the PDF (https://legacysupport.timextender.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001136526-How-to-configure-Multiple-Environments) , and everything works well when all the firewalls are turned off. We have opened port 10001 and 5001, but when the firewall is turned on, my DEV environment can't connect with the Production environment. My setup now is a Development server and a Production server. When I want to connect from Development to Production, I see the servers negotiating on port 10001 and 5001. But after that, they continue to work with a port in the 64xxx range (examples: 64135,64177,64281 etc) e.g. a random port. My firewall won't except this, and I would like to know if it is possible to work with a standard range / port so we can configure our firewall accordingly. Kind regards, Rogier

I'm trying to create a hierarchy of GL accounts and the category they belong to. (i.e. Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Income Expenses). However the Hierarchy is displaying alphabetically. If it were to be sorted by the first GL account it's associated with, it would sort correctly since GL accounts are numbered in the proper sequence. However, when I tell the Dimension, "Parent Category" (which is the Assets, Liabilities etc) to sort by Attribute Key, when I deploy I get an error saying it can't be used as an attribute because it is not related. Is there a workaround to this?

In one of my single text files is a field which is actually a GML field. When i'm trying to deploy and execute this field as varchar(4000) it gives me the following error: 'string or binary data would be truncated' So I wanted to override data type vut this seems to be impossible when your data source is a single text file. So I tried something else, i made an Excel file of my csv file and read objects from data source as Excel, but then my GML field isn't even visible in the data selection tab. is there another possible way to insert my GML file in TimeXtender without getting an error?

I have the following set of tables: A (key1, key2) B (key2, key3) In that case, every key1 can have multiple key2 attributes in table A and every key2 can have multiple key3 attribues in table B. When I would use a conditional lookup field for table A to get key3, it would only give me one of the key3 attribues, is it possible to take all values? I know I could do it with a simple custom view left joining on key2, but is there are recommended way to do it in Discovery Hub without custom views? So the goal table should be like C (key1, key2, key3)

We are providing clients with a preconfigured data warehouse for an ERP system. We will continue to make enhancements and improvements. The client will eventually add additional fields and user defined fields for their own needs. What's the easiest way to merge in our improvements to the changes they have already made to an older version?

I am joining 2 tables T1 and T2 based on a condition T1.A = T2.B T1.A have values like 'wNFq' and T2.B have values like 'WNFQ', 'wnfQ', 'WnFq', 'wNFq' For a regular join a particular row of 'wNFq' from T1 gets joined with all values: 'WNFQ', 'wnfQ','WnFq' and 'wNFq' of T2 My intention is to join only 'wNFq' from T1 to 'wNFq'. I achieved the same using custom SQL insert and using the below COLLATE function to join based on case sensitive sequencing using: T1.A COLLATE Latin1_General_CS_AS_KS_WS = T2.B COLLATE Latin_1_General_CS_AS_KS_WS Wandering if there is a different way to achieve this avoiding custom SQL. Appreciate any help on the same.
