TimeXtender Portal Q&A

Hi I wanted to verify what I am seeing as recent changes to the TimeXtender Portal data source definitions.I distinctly remember being able to switch how a data source was being used to upload data to the ODX whether it was going to use AD).NET or ADF. If I selected ADF then I had to enter the ADF credentials.This seems to have disappeared in recent changes. I was using CDATA REST API connectors, I can no no -longer switch between transfer methods without it seems defining new connections. Can someone confirm this and let me know how I can switch between these transfers without creating new data sources?

Goodmorning Everyone, I'm trying to copy the development to production right now but i'm not able to transfer the ODX because of the following error: I filled in everything correctly but it doesn't work. What frustrates me that the GUI doesn't tell me what's wrong. I tried several thing (even getting rid of data source mappings that are unused) but nothing seems to help. There are no ODX <> MDW mappings that need resolving or any other errors. Only thing that i can think of that one source is giving errors on synchronize (the TimeXtender API to read Job Logs). Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? 

Hi all,We have a prospect who uses TimeXtender for data management, with Qlik Sense providing the Visualizations. They have purchased TimeXtender in a bundle with Qlik Sense and NPrinting and Checkpro which is and android App.Data Structure is created in TimeXtender along with calculated fields and filters and aggregated tables and it is taken from there into Qlik Sense via MSSQL. TimeXtender also loads the data.Data is coming in to Qlik Sense from Excel.The company would like to get rid of TimeXtender and use Qlik Sense exclusively by utilising everything as is, but without TimeXtender. They are not familiar with the SQL scripts in TimeXtender because it is not visible for them. In TimeXtender they just had to drag and drop all the tables to create the data structure, but with Qlik Sense they will have to rewrite all the scripts manually to recreate the same structure.My question is does anybody have any similar experience or any idea? Hello Support Team and Community,I'm a System Administrator. I'm reaching out for help with a licensing issue we've encountered with TimeXtender after updating our golden image. Environment:VMware Horizon: Version 2303 SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager): Version 2309 VDI Operating System: Windows 10 LTSC 1809 TimeXtender: Version 20.10.43.64Problem Description: Following a significant update to our golden image, which included various software updates (except TimeXtender), the TimeXtender license is no longer recognized. This update was deployed following our standard procedure via SCCM, without any modification to the PowerShell script used for installing TimeXtender and deploying the Codeletter.xml license file.Symptom: TimeXtender is requesting activation, whereas the license file, generated in October for our current version, should be valid and recognized automatically. Questions for Support:License Management: Does TimeXtender use the "hardware ID" to generate the license

I have just completed a migration for a client from V20 to V21.I have created Dev UAT and Production Data warehouse instances and I have a Dev ODX and a Production ODX instance.In my V20 project there was only one ODX (v20 limitation). I have re-created that ODX instance as my “DataLake Prod” instance and my plan is to build out the “DataLake Dev” instance in the future and move the Dev and UAT DW instances to use the “DataLake Dev”.But that is for the future. My goal right now is to complete the migration as is and get it up and running for testing and signoff.I have migrated my Dev Data Warehouse deployed and loaded successfully. I am now looking to promote the Dev instance to the UAT instance. When I try that I get a dialog requesting that I map 2 instances of the “DataLake Prod” ODX instance which makes no sense. I also have to choose a different ODX instance for each mapping. The result is the dialog below. When I execute it the copy fails with a “Mapping Error” message!Any sugges

Hello, TimeXtender 20.10.40.64.I have created a simple project variable that takes the environment name. Our goal was to use the project variable in a transformation to say that if a hard coded table field = project variable then 1 else 0.The issue is I cannot use this field in transformations without timextender failing on deploying the table.In the dev environment I have tried sereral ways to achieve this. Custom field transformations where I try to use project variable in any way just results in the error “invalid column name “X”. Where X is whatever enviroment I try to deploy it on.Is there any way to use environment project variables other then usage conditions on execution packages?Thank you,Victor  

I have a table in my Application layer which is based on a view from DSA.The table in Applicaiton layer is a write-back from PBI App where certain columns have data from existing tables and others are empty so that Power App can write to these.Whenever i make a change in my view, the table in Application becomes red.I have tested the following senarios and both times i needed to Deploy and Execute to get rid of the red color and star at the end:Senario 1:Made a minor change in VIEW:From:Select column1 as A from table1toSelect column2 as A from table1I kept the alias but change the column.Senario 2:Wrote a few commentsNow the issue is, i cant Deploy and Execute because then it wont keep the last changes written from PBI App. I need to just Execute or just save so that it wont be overritten/initialized.Is there a way to only Execute when changes dont impact the table structure in Applicatons?  

Hi, we are trying to use the TX API endpoint (https://support.timextender.com/timextender-portal-111/timextender-api-endpoints-1110) to check whether TimeXtender jobs have run or failed (or have warnings). We want to check this with Zabbix monitoring tool.For this check, we are only interested in the last run of a job. The TX API gives us a number of functions, like:GET /public/jobs/{job_id}/status: this only gives status none, pending and running. Not failed, errors, warning, ok et cetera…. GET /public/jobs/{job_id}/logs: this one gives status like completed, failed, warning. But it gives the status of al jobs that have run the last weeks. It also shows ‘severity’ as a property, but it's not documented what different severity states mean.Questions:How can we filter in job logs, so we only get the last execution with status of the execution (errors, failed, ok, ...) ?  What do different severity states (0,2,..?) mean?Our main goal is to get the status of the last job exectution.Thanks!

Why does TimeXtender truncate the table when creating a new index? Is there a way to avoid that? (We’re using TimeXtender legacy 20.10.35.64)

Hi,We are upgrading from 6221.1 to the latest version. To uninstall 6221.1 it seems that we need the installation files for this version, but we no longer have those.Is there some way to get the older installation files for versions 6XXX?Is there another way to uninstall older versions without having the older installation files?

Hallo,Iam really new to all of the Timextender functionalities, so i have a small case/question for the Community: I would like to join two tables and i dont know, if I first define the relation between the two tables or just drag the field into the othe table and create a lookup field  then I will have the option to define a specific relation for this field. Where are the benefits of creating a relation first ? ty in advance FEN

I have this table where i get some time stamp called start and end, i split those up into more tabels with start_hour,start_min,end_hour,end_min. There is a time between 12.00 and 12.30 where the people goes to break if they work over the break they get 30 min less in thier total worktime, if they start doing break or end during break i want to make a transformation that subtracts the time spent if they start thier shift in the break. I have 2 fields called Start_in_lunch and End_in_work. I made this into a boolean conditions so if they start or end in lunch it should trigger, how can i do this. I tried some DateDiff with some Timefromparts but with no luck. The simple solution saying Start-30 and end-30 works but doing that devided by 60 does not work. Any good ideers

I have a table with dates of employees when they start and end work each day. Some days the start of work day is not the same as the end of the work day. Example : employee 2 start work 07-08-2023 end work 09-08-2023. This means that the employee is sick in the period. I have a condition that set this employees work time to 7.5 hours. I have to split up the dates where start_date <> end_date. So that i in the interval can add 7.5 hours to the employee each day he was sick. How can i do this? This is a screenshot where the dates are different. Sorry about the language “mekaniker” is the employee and “Antaltimer_Frokost” means being sick The end result i want is to get 7.5 for each day, so at the first i would like a row for each sicks day . So for the last employee “95012” there would be three rows with each of the day the employee has been sick. Hope its clear what i want

I try to upgrade  version 6221.1 for  customer Dorel.eu . I have the license number. But it requires me to log onto one of your servers to get authorisation . I cannot do that with this user  (not a dorel user). What should I do ?

Hi,I need to create sub directories for a list of users. I have the users in a table so I'm able to create a .bat file with the mkdir statements.I can manually execute this file but I wonder if there is an option to execute this .bat file using TX?

I’m very new to TimeXtender and was hoping someone could assist with my issues.  How would you use an “If” function in TimeXtender?For example, I need to create a new column in my table called “Quantity” . I then need to look at the [code] column in the same table and bring back a value using an If Function. Something like this:If [code] = 1 then ‘small’ else if [code] = 2 then ‘medium’ else if [code] = 3 then ‘large else if [code] = 4 then ‘x large’ else null. Thank you

Hi,I would like to “misuse” TX as an ETL tool by populating an Existing table with new rows.All the logic necessary is processed using TX. The end table to be filled is an existing table and it's table structure can't be modified  so I also need to omit the system control fields. I planned to use an incremental load table but getting errors that the table already exist when I deploy.Not sure if we can use TX this way and someone already solved such a problemAny help would be appreciated.

hi all, i’d like to add an user with a ‘-’ in their domain, it gives me an error in request. how can we create a go around for this? example:victor@test-test.com it can also have to do something with an alias they are using, they have an alias that is not sending them an email, but how can they get access to the portal then?

While talking to TimeXtender, other people, and upgrading TimeXtender a lot of different numbers are thrown around. For some of those the definition and messaging is clear, but others less so.While upgrading the latest patch I encounter:Software (build?) version: 6221.1 Instance version: 2.0.0.0 (I assume something like Cloud Repository structure version?) TimeXtender Next Gen (in articles on the community) API version (if your ODX Server and TimeXtender desktop mismatch)To avoid going down the path that IBM or Microsoft took with a flurry of different numbers that you all need to understand and be careful about, it would be nice to have a place in the Community that lists all these things. This makes it much easier to triage issues and create a “common parlance” between partners, customers and TimeXtender.
